I posted a question about pressure points and bowels....I remembered that my niece and her husband are black belts in karate and I asked them about it, and he gave me advice about it. He said that tomorrow when I am there, he will show me a "Strike Method" on my forearm that will work for me. He needs to occasionally use this on my niece. She said that it works for her.

Hi Breezy
You can try the points LI4  (the fleshy spot between the thumb and first finger) and LI11 (this is at the outer end of the elbow crease. You can press this point for one minute on each arm). this may be the point on your forarm you mentioned. I would make sure you dont actually strike the points just use pressure.

Please let us know if they help you at all.

Thank you for your  response....I would like to know, when trying the spot between the thumb and forefinger, do I also apply pressure there for one minute as well?
Also, I will let you know how it goes tomorrow with my niece and her husband, and I will let them know what I learned from you.
Thank you again for your help.

Please note LI4 is not to be used on pregnant women as it may bring on premature contractions.

Yes this point can be pressed for one min on each hand.

Scott,
Thank you so much for all of your advice. I sat comfortably on my couch and relaxed, and applied pressure on the outside creases of the elbow (LI11) like you suggested. I am not quite sure if this technique is what worked....but something sure did. I spoke with my niece and her husband today and they had some other ideas as well. They asked for your site and I am giving that to them so they can check it out too.
Also...this is the website for their school       www.fadfamilykarate.com   if you are interested in checking them out
Thanks again for helping me out !!!

Breezy
I see your shcool is affiliated with DKI.
We have alot of respect for all Master Dillman has done for pressure points and martial arts.

Have you or your family every personally trained with him?

Any may I ask why you didnt ask either your neice or her husband or one of the other instructors first if they are affiliated with DKI?

I think you must have misunderstood my last reply....I am NOT a member of the school...My niece and her husband have these schools. I did not kow much about pressure ponts until I had talked to a few people and then realized that there might be one for my problem (lol) Then I found your web site. I spoke to my niece and (nephew) and you again...all of you have been such an influence on me that I do believe that I will begin studying some of this. I find all of it quite interesting. I do hope that you speak to Juli and Don or at least visit their site.
Thank you again for all of your help, and between you and Juli and Don(niece and nephew) another chapter is opening in my life,

we are always glad to help anyone who is in need of healing. healing is like a front door way to all martial art, and I personally think that it is much more fun to learn the destructive arts by way of the healing arts they are just opposites. If there is any thing else we can help you with, please feel free to enter your Do Jo (school) again.

smckeown.....

I'm breezy61's niece she told you about.  Like the site.  I train with Grand Master Dillman about 3 or 4 times a year.  Personally.  We are actually friends with him and a number of his collegues.  They love helping people and learning new things as well.  He's giving a seminar at one of our locations December 1.  Check our site

smckeown......

thanks for the welcome.....

I'm familiar with points, meridians, diurnal cycle, elements, cycle of creation and destruction.  More so for martial arts not healing, but I am studying more about healing.  Breezy61 asked about bowel issues and you recommended LI 4 and LI 11.  How should these points be manipulated?  Hitting, rubbing, pressure only?  LI 4 is extremely sensitive on me, so I held light pressure for only 15 - 20 seconds and light pressure on LI 11 for 1 minute last night and this morning and am not having any results.  Any other recommendations?

Your help is much appreciated, I will be asking you alot of questions, you'll probably get sick of me!

Hi Jules
Dont worry about the questions. If I cant help Im sure someone else will. Smiley

Let me check some reference books that Master Lambert has given me to see if I can find any additional info that might help.
I should have some more info for you later tonight.

Jules
The previous points I mentioned both would use pressure and not striking. You can try pressure for 1 min on each side.

I found one more that might help too, It is CV6. This one is about 4 finger widths directly below the belly button.  Its may be easier to press this one lying down. Gradually press in about 1 inch until you feel something firm.
Hold that point while you breath deeply and relax.

Hope this helps.
