Do you train in bare feet or wear some kind of shoe?

I usually train wearing what I would normally were during the day as most likely if I were to ever need to fight I would not be wearing a GI.

Anyone else have any opinion?

It is good to do because if you train only with bare feet, when you are in the street on pavment, your stances will be of and it will be difficult to turn.

It makes a lot of sense to train wearing what type of footwear you would normaly wear however it's probably not good for the dojo equipment or your practice partners overall health. That being said maybe it is wise to train both ways barefoot in the dojo and footwear outside of the dojo? Just a thought. Very true though about not being able to move properly in a real situation when your used "only" to barefoot training. One positive thing about wearing footwear in the dojo might be less problems with foot fungus!  lol   that's my 2 cents...haha

I always kind of enjoy training bare foot and I can worry less about damaging my partner, but when I train in my backyard I make an effort to wear different kinds of shoes and outfits so that I feel comfortable in more than just my Gi.

Yes I Agree, Its a Good Idea too Train in foot-ware, outside,or inside the dojo for that matter Wink We Train with our Shoes, Boots, on, except when  we train in Ukeme, and or the Ju-jutsu, because we have "Mat's", and Shoes are not allowed on My Mats Grin Grin Grin Wink
Kind regards;
