Steven Segal. He's a real martial artist. Jackie Chan has said that his martial arts that you see him using in movies are all fake and learned from watching kung fu movies. So he is only acting at it.

Segal would wipe the floor with him! lol

Hi

Im sorry but that is just not true Jackie was in a very severe martial arts school from childhood

where his parents had to sign a waver saying if he died due to the harsh training they could not sue.

Segal trained in a soppy western dojo till he married a jap and her dad upgraded him.

Where do people get there info from?

Umm... from Jackie Chan himself, out of his own mouth on the outtakes/interview part of one of his movies. He said that all of his moves come from watching bruce lee or other martial artists in film. The only reference I could find to him getting any type of martial arts training is the wikipedia page on him. The source is from a biography from Star Pulse:

Quote
Enrolled in the Chinese Opera Research Institute at the age of seven, he spent the next decade in rigorous training for a career with the Peking Opera, excelling in martial arts and acrobatics.

If I recall the interview correctly, he said that he found he was very good at acrobatics and action sequences and trained to do that type of acting. Note that this is not martial arts training but more of an "action oriented acting training".

Also as a quick add. His family was so poor that they almost sold him as a child. I doubt they could afford to send him to any type of training like this.

Dont the two above posts cancel each other out

He was so poor his parents nearly sold him so they couldnt afford to send him to a martial arts school and in the next he was enrolled in the Chinese opera research institute LOL

The chinese opera research instittue is the place I was refering to.

That is where his parents had to sign the waver.

I got my information from documentary he did years ago it was him saying it

But if you prefer to believe the net lol

Wilkapedia LOL
