Shin Shu is nothing new, but it is how you think about what you are doing! For and example a reverse middle punch, standard in all of the martial arts, used to commonly strike the center line, right? it is more than that, it can be used as a block as well, before it srikes the opponents centerline, there fore it is a block, right? If you apply fast foot work to your defence, there is little need to block, so this reverse punch could be used not as a block but a strike, this reverse punch may be used to strike the on coming punch then go on to strike the centerline, now we can call it a block-strike used  on the way to strike the center line. this all can come from a reverse punch. Shin Shu is the ability to open the mind to all possiblity's and in many cases that is the differents. The zen of martial arts can't be given by a master, it can be found by inlightenment.

Could you tell me  a littlebit more about the Shin Shu Ryu White Crane system, and the Zen Bushido Kempo Karate method!Alltough Ive been in this forum just a short amount of time,I can see similarities between our styles, and Im deeply facinated about this.

Any move of the human body Is limited only by what you know! I find that when in practice most of the learning comes by accident. when you learn your first kata you some times are shown one simple application for all the moves. then you pratice with a partner using only that kata and those aplications that you know. when quit by accident at the same time the two of you through the same punch at the same time, (say a middle punch but one with the right hand the other with the left) and by way of accident, you may find your punch BLOCKED by way of your two fore arms rubbing pulling your attacker arm off center and downwards, with some thinking and some practice, you found a new use fore a middle punch and an extended application. which in turn gives you a personal style or system when you have spent  the time to have a thousand accidents! The art of Shin Shu Ryu is only this, stay away from the mind set of winning and open your mind to learning if it's by accident or by defeat or the basics of an other system, leave your mind open to all possiblitys.

The saddest words in the martial arts is, my teacher said,"  this technique is for *&^$$$@@. and the student is held captive by his thinking the instructor is right, thats all it does! OPEN YOUR MIND, OR SHIN SHU RYU

Hello All "Shin Shu Ryu" Players; I have a Question - Is this Art an External, or a Internal Martial Art?

Yes Sir - It Is! I feel like i have Egg on my face - I should have known that your Style is Soft, because -(in my humble opinion)- Its only a soft style that can execute a proper Kyusho Waza!
