Razorack, I would like to say that, we are working on a way to do this but the problem is safety. Were it is true that there are many out there trying to work out the science of striking points, and there are many ways to do them, in a given equation.
above, it was mentioned that a cupped hand to the side of the neck will ko a person and that is so. what was know said is," the when, what, and why"? The above poster, by saying that the cupped hand is there perfered weapon says to me that, 1, they are under 5 foot 8 inches, or 2, they fear striking at close range! I say this because a high block-strike, at close range work better with less effort but because you would be using half the length of your arm (with a high block strike) you would have to be brave enough to counter at close range, or if you are short, and you are fighting with a taller opponent, you would need a longer arm to reach the neck, even at close range.
Now to teach these thing rather than a system that will not work for all, in every incounter is my goal, My problem is that poeple are not always wise, I personally know of people that have unwisely practiced with out proper mind set and have kill  and or have died. and it is all because the masters out there today are unwise. it would be hard for me to bare, so unless I know that I could do in the right way I will not teach it. I must find the proper way to teach it (by way of  sight) first, fore there are no bad students only bad teachers! The only proven way is for the master to know the student so he (the teacher) can know that he has the right spirit, any farmer knows that, unless you take out the weeds, there will be know harvest.

Master Lambert; Don't you think that when You make Comments concerning a method(technique), like the "Cuped Palm strike into the Whole Side of the Neck"; You should begin your statement with {In My Humble Opinion First!?} = I say this, because you are way off base when you say things like, In order to use this strike you are under 5 feet tall, or you have a fear of striking at close range ect,. ect,. Which is Pure Rubbish - The Cuped palm too the Side of the neck, and also too the Back of the Neck, are Known As "Percussive Strikes", and they come from the {Chinese Internal System of Bagwazhang} Do You Have Any Knowledge Of "Bagwazhang"? Well, you should E-mail Erle Montaigue, concerning the System of Bagwazhang, before you make statements of which you have no knowledge of!
I have Also Used Both of These Methods when I was doing the body guard thing - They Work Very, Very, Well!!! And I'm 6 feet tall, with No Fear Of Close Range - That Is When They Are Most Applicable, Is At Close Range!!!!

Hi Tom, all traditional systems of fighting are in fact based on body type it is not that cupped hands don't work, it is just when and how it is used best. example, Shoalin is first divided in to northern and southern Shoalin, one uses long reaching techniqes, the other short tight techniques. the question is why, the answer is general human size. If you are a man of small frame, fighting a large framed man, for the small man reach is the answer for him. The proof of this is, in boxing the man with the shorter reach is classified as having a disadvantage. to get into striking range, he is at risk of being hit twice as hard! and that is the real point I was trying to bring out that in a nose to nose, the smaller man may find the cupped hand technique works well, with a quick retreat follow up. to work better for him. where as, the taler man may find no need for it and use a shorter technique like a high block-strike.
Now can a tale man use the full length of his arm to strike a shorter man with the cupped hand technique, yes he can But all things being equal, combined with murphy's law, The larger man in general is slower than the smaller man because the larger man has more mass to move than the smaller man. it would be wise if the larger man uses shorter techniques and the smaller man use the longer. in other words if speed is equal, and the large and the small man using a simple back fist and start the strike at the same time, the small man will complete the back fist first, only because the mass in the arm of the larger man is a third greater.
This is generally true and is a well known fact in boxing, Light weights are generally faster than heavy weights. true that if the heavy weight hits the light weight it's lights out but it is also true that the light weight will strike twice as fast and score more punches.
Now Mastery of martial arts is a science of why, then what and when or, what (technique), "why" it is used, and (when) or by who. acording to mathamatical law. that is the real science not the system or that style or this technique, that is just children talking. and that is the point I was pointing out. I was trying to say that if a poster wishs to start a discusion on a technique like a cupped hand strike, the cross talk should be about what, when and why! without insults or feeling insulted and You are only getting insulted by your own lack of knowledge. why do I say that, you don't ask questions or add to the talk, you keep pulling out master Mantaigue out of nowhere because thats your only weapon. and I am not inpress by him or your use of him! nor is anyone else. Master Mantaigue is just a man not a personal weapon he is like Masters Dillman, Sokon, Moran, Kisi, and myself, they don't know it all, they just what to discover it all, that is what a masters is and work towards. To learn you have to pay attention and ask questions, then you will some day know.
